Our Own Dish Glashütte Original Original Sixties Series

GLASHÜTTE ORIGINAL Glashütte Original takes the 1960s as a source of inspiration for new works in 2018, and launches two dazzling Sixties series timepieces: the new Sixties and Sixties Panorama Date. Pforzheim’s own pasta factory has carefully crafted a charming green gradient dish, which will only be available for sale in 2018.

The Sixties series launched a new color palette style in 2018, inspired by the swaying 1960s, creating two new green-faced works

The new model is dedicated to fans with unique artistic appreciation, paying tribute to the era when most masterpieces were hand-made with the best materials. There is a person who is rich in culture and tastes elegant, and pays attention to the classic works created by the classic brands that keep pace with the times. There is a culture where you can see innovations in the fields of watchmaking, furniture, music and fashion. There is a classic 1960s design enthusiast who loves geometric shapes and eye-catching colors, is familiar with the Spezimatic watch created by the town of Glashütte for the rocking 1960s, and a series of dreams that are still full of the spirit of the times. For these reasons, they repeatedly appreciate Sixties and Sixties Panorama Date, the latest masterpieces of the Sixties series originally created by Glashütte.

The green faceplate has a unique Dégradé gradient effect to show the light and shade changes of color, and the fine hollow pattern on the engraved stamp is printed on the faceplate with high pressure.

The arched sapphire crystal, slightly curved hands, and period-style Arabic numerals are the classic symbols of Sixties and Sixties Panorama Date. One of the most dazzling is the dazzling retro green face plate. The unique Dégradé gradient effect shows the change of light and dark colors, from the light color in the center to the edge of the circular arc of the face. In addition, the detailed textures on the Sixties and Sixties Panorama Date dials are printed on the blank dials using the tools and methods of the time.
The collection of these ‘Dies’ prototypes in the archives of the Wurzheim pasta factory is another example of pure orthodoxy. Dégradé’s gradient effect is formed by applying a layer of electroplated primer and then applying a colored paint finish. The last step is to use a special spray gun to carefully spray black paint. The spray gun will produce unique gradient colors due to different holding angles, making each faceplate unique. After finishing the painted face plate, the color will be fixed by high temperature burning. The connoisseurs of the Sixties Iconic and Sixties Iconic Square collections of the Saxony watch factory and their dazzling colored faceplates will undoubtedly embrace this new approach.

Thanks to the original Pforzheim faceplate factory owned by Glashütte Original, this traditional style faceplate can be reproduced. The Dégradé gradient effect is formed by first applying a layer of electroplated primer and then applying a colored paint. Will be carefully sprayed with black paint using a special spray gun

Although the town of Glashütte faced various challenges in the 1960s, outstanding works such as the classic Spezimatic series mechanical watches still brought hope to the day. Many of the Spezimatic watches, first introduced in 1964, use discs from the Fitzheim disc factory. The town of Glashütte has been in contact with Wertsheim for more than 50 years. In 2006, the Swatch Group acquired the noodle dish factory, which strengthened the relationship between the two places. Later, Glashütte’s original direct leadership of the noodle dish factory deepened the relationship. Today, the full integration of the expertise of the face plate factory helps the brand to develop unique and modern face plate designs, while also meeting the extreme quality requirements of the watch factory.

The three-needle model and the big date model have different movements, and the case size is slightly different, but both are equipped with a leather strap

The new Sixties and Sixties Panorama Date are equipped with 39-47 and 39-52 automatic movements designed and manufactured by the original factory. The classic large date window is located in the lower half of the midline of the faceplate. The three-hand model has a polished 39 mm stainless steel case, and the large date model has a 42 mm stainless steel case with a black calfskin strap and pin buckle.
