Classic Precision Tasting Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph Watch

The emergence of chronographs is only 150 years of history. Since the establishment of Audemars Piguet in 1875, 627 of the 1,625 timepieces produced between 1880 and 1890 are equipped with chronograph functions Among them, 299 of them have the function of chasing hands and 6 of them have lightning femtosecond function. In 1993, Audemars Piguet introduced the Royal Oak Offshore Watch, which is extremely sporty. Most of them are equipped with a chronograph function.

And Audemars Piguet’s most iconic series, the Royal Oak series launched the first chronograph in 1997, the thickness of the chronograph movement is only less than 5.5 mm, becoming one of Audemars Piguet’s most successful models. Since then, many versions of this best-selling timepiece have been launched. Today, the Royal Oak Chronograph has become one of the core products of this series.

On the 20th anniversary of the Royal Oak Series Chronograph this year, the newly designed Royal Oak Series Chronograph (model: 26331ST.OO.1220ST.02) was unveiled on SIHH. The 41 mm case diameter is matched with the ‘Grande Tapisserie’ large checkered dial. The dial is sublimated to reveal a new aesthetic. The fresh and clear two-tone dial design has been treated with new details, giving it a modern and luxurious sporty temperament.

The timing button no longer uses the previous screw-in design, which greatly improves the convenience of the timing function. Water resistance is still 50 meters before.

The process of the integrated strap is very complicated. There are 138 corners of the strap links of different lengths that need to be sanded and polished by hand, so that each link achieves a completely symmetrical bevel on the left and right, and the visual beauty of polishing and frosting.

These painstaking efforts and ingenious craftsmanship make each Royal Oak steel watch a distinctive color.

Because of the same movement, the thickness of the watch is not much different from the chronograph first introduced in 1997. The various layers of the Royal Oak case are polished by hand by watchmakers, which is extremely time consuming.

The black ‘Grande Tapisserie’ large checkered decorative dial and the silver sub-dial are neatly arranged. The 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, the 12-hour counter at 9 o’clock, and the small seconds at 6 o’clock. The date display is between 4 and 5 o’clock, which is clear when read.

The luminous display is clear and the time can be easily read in any environment.

Stainless steel bottom cover, fixed by 8 platinum screws. Equipped with Calibre 2835 self-winding self-produced movement, this Audemars Piguet chronograph movement is only 5.5 mm thick and consists of 304 components. It has a power reserve of more than 40 hours. The 18K rose gold oscillating weight of the movement is decorated with Geneva pattern, the main splint is decorated with a ring pattern, and the bridge-shaped splint is polished by hand chamfering.

Summary: The new Royal Oak Chronograph has 7 different materials and dial colors. Among them, stainless steel with black and white blue dial; rose gold with brown and blue dial, rose gold bracelet and leather strap, precise timing and perfect shape.
